Types Of Care
  
Residential homes
Our residential homes offer a warm, safe and friendly environment. This enables people to maintain their independence if they wish and to gain support when needed. Our aim is that the individuals retain their quality of life. Privacy and choice are high on our list of priorities, with personal care tailored to meet individual needs. We offer this to those aged over 70, although some homes may accept younger residents depending on individual circumstances.
All carers employed by Anchor are given intensive training and are required to complete NVQ qualifications inclusive of level 2/3/4.
Nursing homes
The service offered in our nursing homes is similar to the residential home, with the main difference being that the care is led by registered nurses. This offers a more specialist care environment and can support people who perhaps have more complex nursing needs.
Dual registered homes
Our dual registered homes offer both residential and nursing care. If you think that your level of care may change in the future then this could be the right kind of home for you. This type of home is also perfect for couples that may need different levels of care.
EMI care – Elderly mentally ill
We can offer specialist care for residents, either at residential or nursing home facilities, depending on the level of illness. We provide experienced staff and homes which have been adapted for this type of care.
Respite care
Our respite care is short term, possibly for a week or two, for those whose carers need a break or if a carer is unavailable for a short period.
Dementia
Dementia is a complex illness that requires support and understanding from the carers involved. Specialist care, within either a residential or nursing environment, may be appropriate when you or your relative feel that the care needs or behaviours go beyond the abilities or resources of the family or friends to continue caring at home.
Anchor has Residential, Nursing and Dual Registered homes that have the expertise of dealing with these special needs. The minimum age for admission is normally 70, although some homes may accept younger residents.
The main thing is to get the right type of care for the person, in the right location.
